About Blomqvist

Blomqvist Kunsthandel was established in 1870 as one of the Nordic countries’ first art dealers. Today, more than 140 years later, Blomqvist remains Norway’s oldest, largest and most renowned distributor of art and antiques.

Through the years many of the most acclaimed artists have exhibited at Blomqvist. We hosted Edvard Munch’s exhibitions on several occasions. Then, as now, the salesrooms in Tordenskiolds street 5 were amongst the finest private exhibition spaces in Scandinavia.

The reputation, knowledge and experience at Blomqvist all contribute to creating a secure and positive environment for both buyers and sellers. We are able to provide qualified advice on purchases and sales of art, antiques, silver, design, jewellery, porcelain and glass. To be brief, we handle all objects that are valued for their beauty or monetary value, but also objects valued for the interest they generate. Be it beautiful objects for everyday use, valuable collector’s items or gemstones, Blomqvist knows the market.

At Blomqvist, people with an interest in art, design or antiques can meet; it is therefore not only the leading place for sales and purchases, but also a place where one can share knowledge of art, antiques and the joy of collecting.
